About the event
'Gannin Alang the Wall', is a humorous film featuring a number of interesting characters who walk along the line of the wall pointing out different points of interest.
Created to advertise how the Roman Wall follows a line directly through Newcastle City Centre, 'Gannin Alang the Wall' features 100 local people that took part in the filming at many locations along the 12 mile route through Newcastle.
The screening will be followed by a discussion hosted by the film's director Judith Green (St James' Heritage and Environment Group) and Bill Griffiths, Head of Programmes and Collections (North East Museums).
The film was supported by Newcastle City Council, North East Museums (formerly Tyne & Wear Archives & Museums) and St James' Group as a contribution to the Hadrian's Wall 1900 Festival in 2022.
